Researching Affiliate Programs and Products

Well aside from obvious reasons, like knowing what you are getting into, you want to compare the commission percentages, and the possible restrictions on how to promote. Amazon for example, only allows for certain promotional photos to use on your website. They have specific logos that you can utilize if you decide to become an affiliate with them.

So far from what I've seen, the products on Clickbank.com pays some of the highest commissions and they make it much easier to choose from the different industries if you may not already have a niche in mind. There are also more stats that you can track related to the product that you will be promoting. This gives you much more data to pull from which allows you to scale and manage your expectations better.

Remember, YouTube and Google can be your best friend. There are practically videos and articles about everything on the internet. Take some time out to see what people may or may not being saying about the product/service that you decide to become an affiliate of. This is where you can get a good idea of how many people are interested in your product.

You also want to get information about the company you are an affiliate of. It's important to know of their track record. You want to know how frequently do they pay, how reliable they are, the method in which they pay, etc...

Affiliate marketing is a win-win scenario as long as the affiliate partner (you) can be effective on your end. Gaining as much information as possible from your end before you dive in will place you in the the top ranking in your niche.
